That Guy Died
You may have seen this in the news already, but in case you didn't, that guy from that movie/TV show died yesterday. You know, this guy!
Character actors rule. I thought I blogged about them awhile back, with a list of some of my favorites, but I guess I didn't. At one point I know I started making a list but I guess I'll have to start again. Here's a website that might be helpful, but there are really just too many listed there for me to find anyone. Do you have a favorite character actor? Yeah you do--y'know, that guy from that show.

also, I'm dumb. what do you mean by "character actor?" just an actor that plays a character?

Trojan can probably give you a better definition, being in the biz and all, but to me a character actor is someone who plays a lot of smaller roles and is really good at conveying a certain type of character. For Vincent, that would be the scary, creepy, or weary lookin' guy. Since character actors always play smaller roles, you never learn their names, and they never get famous. Yet, they make a lot of money doing what they do cause they get many parts.
Exactly, and you can make a very comfortable living as a character actor too. Character actors are usually not as glam as the A list stars and they tend to get looked over allot til they find their niche. They are sterotyped as specific characters because that is what the industry wants from them.
I don't know about that link...it lists them as character actors but the first 20 or so faces I recognized were with names of people I associate with one specific role they played.

Yep! "Hey, isn't that the guy..." That's the normal character actor reaction!
piannist is right, there are way too many actors listed on that website. I'll have to look for a better one. I wonder if anyone has put together a top 10 character actors list; that's what I'd like to see.
